PM Mitsotakis says punishment for arsonists will be harsh

The PM informed the President of the Republic

Newsroom July 27 01:24

PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis said “The axe of justice will be swift and harsh against those who think they can get away with endangering human lives and destroying precious natural wealth” during the regular monthly meeting with the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, referring to possible arson culprits.

The Prime Minister stressed that “as a rule, fires are started by an unconscious hand”, specifying that “if it is negligence, it is unforgivable” and calling on citizens to observe the rules of basic logic.

At the beginning of the dialogue they had in front of the cameras, the Prime Minister spoke of “difficult and very sad days as we mourn 4 of our fellow citizens, the 2 Air Force pilots who fell in the line of duty and two civilians who did not have time to flee from the fire”.
