CIA Director William Burns is in Israel ahead of a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an Israeli official tells the Times of Israel.

Netanyahu refused to send a delegation to Cairo today to meet with Burns and senior Egyptian officials in Qatar in an effort to formulate an agreement with Hamas related to the release of the hostages.

The Israeli official declined to comment on who else from the Israeli side would be attending the meeting. It is noted that Israel’s war cabinet will meet later in the evening, followed by the security cabinet.
