Today marks the start of the Easter holiday opening hours for commercial stores

Sunday, April 28th, shops will be open - detailed opening hours for Holy Week

Newsroom April 25 07:57

Today, April 25th, marks the beginning of the holiday operating hours for commercial stores in Athens. Additionally, on Sunday, April 28th shops will be open.

The Athens Traders Association (Emporikos Sylogos Athinon), has announced the proposed operating hours for the city’s commercial stores during the Easter holiday period. Stavros Kafounis, the association’s president, stated: “Following ELSTAT’s documented data on the Athens Traders Association index that recorded a 3% decrease in the fourth quarter of 2023 for small stores operating with simplified accounting books and following three challenging months at the beginning of 2024, I hope that this holiday period will mark the beginning of increased consumer activity one that we expect and hope to be achieved through the tourist volumes and the local community. Stores in the city center and the regional markets of Athens are awaiting consumers to do their Easter shopping, with fully stocked shelves and reasonable prices. Happy Easter to everyone.”
