Lamia: Rammed into by a goat and died a week later – The rare infection that claimed her life

An unfortunate 80-year-old woman fought for her life for an entire week after being injured by a goat in Lamia. According to a report by lamianow.gr, she did not die from her injuries but from a severe infection caused by a pyogenic streptococcus bacterium, which infected her. This is a rare complication, with another death from the same cause reported in the local community a year ago.

Reliable medical sources indicate that the unfortunate woman arrived at the ICU of Lamia Hospital after a three-day stay at a private clinic. Her condition was already serious, as she had suffered a significant injury from the armpit down to her ribs, accompanied by inflammation, a severe respiratory infection, and septic shock.

The 80-year-old was hospitalized for a week in the ICU of Lamia Hospital, with doctors and nursing staff fighting to manage her condition. Unfortunately, she did not survive, plunging her family and the entire village into mourning and grief.
