Metron Analysis: ND leads by 15.3 points, Mitsotakis dominates, six parties vying for a single seat

SYRIZA maintains a significant lead over PASOK, KKE leads over Eliniki Lysi within the margin of error – voter interest has decreased compared to 2019

Newsroom May 28 10:55

The Metron Analysis poll presented on Mega confirmed the dominance of New Democracy (ND) and Kyriakos Mitsotakis. ND leads with 31% in the vote estimation, showing slight losses, while SYRIZA gains marginally to 15.7%. PASOK shows a recovery with an almost one-unit increase, despite its leader Nikos Androulakis’s declining popularity.

SYRIZA’s position is not secured as PASOK’s upper limit is just above SYRIZA’s lower limit. KKE leads Eliniki Lysi, but their difference remains within the statistical error margin. Six smaller parties, including Eleftheria Plefsis and Niki, are vying for a seat, with Freedom Sailing surpassing 4% and Niki approaching it.

Interest in the European elections has decreased, with 67% of respondents expressing significant interest, 5 points lower than in 2019. The current contest lacks the stakes of the 2019 elections, which had higher turnout due to their impact on national elections. Turnout is not expected to reach the 58% seen in 2019.

Young voter interest is low at 59%, increasing to 76% among those over 78 years old. Voters see transparency, the economy, and unemployment as the biggest issues, but the percentage of those believing the country is headed in the wrong direction dropped from 64% to 61%.
