The thermometer rises in the country in the coming days, with meteorologists talking about high temperatures.

Warmer days will be the days from next Sunday until Wednesday, where the mercury will reach up to 36 degrees Celsius in certain geographical areas, locally.

As the director of EMY, Thodoris Kolydas, says:

“Although there are still some differences between the forecast data, at the same time we have many points where their views converge .
✅So we can talk about a gradual rise in temperature from Sunday onwards, with the wind field being generally weakened. Sea breezes will be beneficial to coastal areas.
✅The warmth will last until next Wednesday. Temperature ranges will be described through next Monday, where the atmospheric forecast is good. Tuesday and Wednesday will be re-evaluated in the coming days.
✅Temperature comparisons at the 850hPa level are presented in a table, followed by a video showing the evolution based on the ECMWF and GFS model.

1. Saturday: 32 to 33 and locally in the east 34°C
2. Sunday : 32 to 34 and locally 35°C

The evolution of the weather from today

Today Thursday in several continental areas there will be local showers and thunderstorms at noon and in the afternoon according to the weather forecast by ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos.

In Attica and Thessaloniki the maximum temperature today will be 28 and 26 degrees respectively. In the prefecture of Thessaloniki today there will be temporary showers or thunderstorms.

In Attica, local clouds are predicted at noon and in the afternoon today, with the possibility of rain for a while in the north of the prefecture.

On Friday, the instability is limited in eastern Macedonia and Thrace and from the weekend onwards, summer weather with a gradual rise in temperature is expected.

The first week of summer will be a week of above normal temperatures. More heat is forecast until the middle of next week. On Sunday, temperatures on the mainland will reach 33 to 35 degrees.

It will rise a little more on Monday and Tuesday with the thermometer indicatively reaching 35 to 36 degrees in Athens.

With the latest data from next Thursday, June 6 and from the north the temperature will begin the descent. But also on the election weekend the temperature will still be above normal, about the same as next weekend.
