A lover of luxury holidays and the good life appears to be the policewoman serving in Mykonos who was arrested on charges of stealing a gold chain from a Syrian-born prisoner.
According to reports, the 31-year-old, who is a deputy sergeant and serves at the island’s police station, was “caught” on camera at the station putting her hand in the 63-year-old woman’s handbag and removing the jewellery.
The theft was noticed when it was time for the detainee to be released and receive her personal belongings and found that she was missing the gold chain.
She informed the police and as it turned out, the thief was none other than the deputy warden who was arrested by officers of the Internal Affairs Department.
