Panhellenic Exams 2024: Tomorrow after 13:00 grades will be announced

How can candidates access their results

Newsroom June 27 01:43

Tomorrow, Friday, June 28, 2024, after 1:00 p.m., the results of the Nationwide Examinations for General High Schools (GEL) and Vocational High Schools (EPAL) will be announced, according to a statement by the Ministry of Education, Religion, and Sports.

The posted statements in all GEL and EPAL schools will include only the code of each candidate and their grades for each subject examined. Additionally, candidates can check their scores online at https://results.it.minedu.gov.gr by entering their eight-digit code and the first four characters of their surname, first name, patronymic, and matronymic in capital Greek letters.

Furthermore, candidates who have submitted a relevant application will receive their scores via text message (SMS) on their mobile phones.

Actions Required by Directors of Secondary Education and School Principals

On Friday, June 28, upon receiving the relevant parcels, Directors of Secondary Education Departments should deliver them to the Principals of the General and Vocational High Schools within their jurisdiction. These parcels will contain:
a. Scraps of notebooks
b. Two statement prints as described above

The (Deputy) Director of each GEL and EPAL, along with a member of the Teachers’ Association, must immediately verify the consistency between the detailed nominal statements and the scraps upon receipt. In case of discrepancies, the grading center must be contacted immediately. Subsequently, the (Vice) Principals will post the printed statements, which include ONLY THE CANDIDATES’ CODES AND GRADES, in the school units.

If a candidate does not have their code, the (Deputy) Directors of GEL and EPAL are instructed by the Ministry of Education to inform the candidate of their grades based on the detailed grade reports sent to them, which include candidate names.

The Ministry of Education emphasizes to Directors of Education and School Principals the importance of not communicating the results before the official announcement on Friday, June 28, 2024, after 1:00 p.m.

Simultaneously with the official announcement of grades in schools, grades will be posted online at https://results.it.minedu.gov.gr and communicated to candidates via text message (SMS).

Expected Trends in Scores

This year’s Panhellenic exams are expected to yield fewer excellent marks (18-20). As a result, the admission scores for top-tier schools, such as Law, Medicine, and Polytechnic schools, are likely to decrease.

According to grading center data, in the 1st Humanities Orientation Group, excellent scores will be notably reduced, especially in History and Ancient Greek. In History, only 1 in 10 candidates is expected to score excellently, while in Ancient Greek, the ratio is 1 in 25.

Given these trends, traditionally high-ranking schools like Law and Psychology may experience a drop in admission scores.

In the 2nd and 3rd Orientation Groups (Positive Studies and Health Studies), Physics is expected to play a decisive role, with only 1 in 25 candidates achieving excellent marks. This could result in a drop of over 500 points for both Polytechnic and Medical Schools.

In Mathematics, a common subject for the 2nd and 4th Orientation Groups (Positive Studies and Economics and Informatics), it is expected that more than 7 out of 10 candidates will score below the base level.

Deadline for Generating Codes for Computerized Submission

Tomorrow, Friday, June 28, is the last day to generate codes for the submission of the Computerized Data Sheet (M.D.) and Parallel Computerized Data Sheet (P.M.D.) for participants in this year’s Panhellenic Exams.

Instructions for GEL Candidates

All candidates wishing to submit for admission to Higher Education and/or P.M.D. for admission to Public S.A.E.K. (formerly I.E.K.) must contact their High School to obtain a personal security code (password). With this code, candidates can process and submit their M.D. after the announcement of GEL grades. The process for obtaining this personal security code began on Wednesday, June 19, and ends tomorrow, June 28.

Candidate Process

In July, candidates can use their security code to process and finalize their computerized card (M.D. and/or P.M.D.) online within a specified deadline. The electronic application will provide detailed instructions, useful links, statistics, and previous years’ admission bases.

Candidates will have a specific deadline in July to submit their computerized report from any PC with internet access. Those choosing to finalize their report at their High School will have access to school computers, free internet, and assistance from their teachers.

Guidelines for Lyceum Principals

Principals must ensure:

a) All interested in submitting M.D. and/or P.M.D. create their personal security code (password) between 6/19/2024 and 6/28/2024. The password must be created and registered exclusively by the candidate as it is strictly personal. The candidate should also register their email for additional contact information.

c) From the time the submission window for M.D. and/or P.M.D. opens in July, monitor and inform candidates and final students who have not submitted/finalized their computerized report within the specified deadline.
