A car crash has taken place in Santorini, in which a 66-year-old man has died.

The accident took place early in the morning of Thursday 25 July on the Messaria – Kamari provincial road in Thira,

According to Cyclades24.gr, the 66-year-old man while making his usual route with his motorbike, for unknown reasons, a 23-year-old driver of a car, originating from outside Greece, dragged and abandoned him, causing his fatal injury. The vehicle was found abandoned a short distance away and the driver of the car was arrested by police.

A case file was formed against the 23-year-old, while the exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Thera Police Subdirectorate.
