The AADE tightened its grip on hundreds of thousands of restaurant professionals across the country last Thursday, the first of the month. Taverns, taverns, pizzerias, beer gardens, etc., or all those establishments that serve meals or snacks at the table, must have the new “smart” cash registers from that date. Otherwise, they will suffer the pain of inspections and penalties in case of non-compliance.

The new machines have the ability to “read” and automatically inform the AADE even about “open tables” in the shop, i.e. all pending orders. Each individual order will be immediately registered in the tax memory of the cash register, thus eliminating turnover deletions. As, the old mechanisms do not record tables and orders, enabling “cheats” to cancel order forms and not issue receipts.

Specifically, according to the relevant decision of the AADE, from August 1, taverns, restaurants, ouzeri, beer houses and those shops that serve meals or snacks or food on a table will have to operate with the new type of mechanisms (FIMAS or FTM or ADHME Restaurant) or, alternatively, to conclude a contract with an Electronic Invoicing Service Provider.

With the new tax mechanisms for restaurant businesses that accept orders, the receipt is printed only by an integrated printer, pending orders (“open” tables) and receipts pending for issue are recorded in the tax memory.

According to the decision of the AADE, catering businesses that carry out their activity in settlements with a population of up to 500 inhabitants and on islands with a population of less than 3,100 inhabitants, according to the latest census, are exempt from this obligation, except for places considered tourist.
