Salmonella was found in burgers after inspections conducted by the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET). The organization urges consumers who have purchased the product not to consume it.
More specifically, EFET, particularly the Regional Directorate of Central Macedonia, during inspections within the framework of the “Official Control of Microbiological Safety Criteria for Food” program for the year 2024, identified the Salmonella bacteria in packaged burgers.
The organization conducted sampling of fresh meat preparation (pork-beef) with the details: “TRADITIONAL FRESH BURGER” weighing 0.600 kg, with a production date of 27/07/2024, LOT 27.07.2024 60230007, and consumption date until: 08/08/2024.
Manufacturer/Packager: “KASIDIS S.A” with the trade name “FARMA ELASSONAS”.
Following laboratory analyses at the EFET Food Testing and Research Laboratory in Thessaloniki, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella spp. was confirmed in the above sample.
EFET demanded the immediate recall of the entire batch of the mentioned product, and the relevant inspections are already underway.
