Firefighting forces in Kordelio and the outskirts of Izmir, Turkey, along with hundreds of volunteers, fought throughout the night against the flames to prevent the fire from spreading further into the urban areas.
The fire, which began on Thursday afternoon, intensified by Friday evening, reaching residential areas in both Kordelio and the outskirts of Izmir, burning houses and forcing thousands of people to flee their homes.

By the early morning, no human casualties had been reported, but dozens of people required hospitalization for respiratory issues.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that 3,583 people were evacuated as a precaution due to the forest fires in Izmir, Aydın, Bolu, Muğla, and Manisa.
A total of 90 aircraft, 4,717 personnel, and 1,218 vehicles are involved in the firefighting efforts. As a precaution, 3,583 citizens have been relocated to safe areas.

In Izmir Province: 2,489 personnel, 258 vehicles, and 604 pieces of heavy equipment have been deployed. Due to the fire near residential areas, 900 citizens from eight different settlements were evacuated as a precaution.
In Bolu: Intervention efforts continue with 986 personnel, 384 vehicles, and 371 pieces of heavy equipment. A total of 413 citizens from four different settlements were moved to safe areas as a precaution.
In Manisa: The effort to control the fire continues uninterrupted with 583 personnel, 149 vehicles, and 121 pieces of heavy equipment. In Manisa province, 1,190 citizens have been relocated to safe areas.
In Aydın: Intervention efforts continue with 35 personnel, 10 vehicles, and 12 pieces of heavy equipment. As a precaution, 550 citizens from three different settlements were relocated to safe areas.
