A total of 52 agricultural and forest fires broke out in the last 24 hours across the country. According to the Fire Service, 42 of these were immediately addressed in their initial stages, while firefighting forces are still dealing with 10.

The fire that broke out in low vegetation in Neoktixta, Aspropyrgos, has been partially contained. According to the Fire Service, the blaze started around 3:15 PM, and to extinguish it, 30 firefighters were mobilized with 12 vehicles, along with an aerial helicopter. Municipal water tankers also provided assistance.

Local investigative offices, as well as teams from the Fire Arson Investigation Division (D.A.E.E.), are investigating the causes of the fires.

Finally, the Fire Service urges all citizens to be particularly cautious and, in the event of a fire, to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities closely for their own safety.
