Universities: Online registration of first-year students begins – What you need to know

The platform of the Ministry of Education is still under development

Newsroom August 28 12:46

In a few days, the online registration process for first-year students for the 2024-25 academic year will begin. Each year, commencement takes place in late August to early September with the exact date for this year expected to be announced by the Ministry of Education.

The start of the electronic registration process for freshers for the 2024-25 academic year is fast approaching, with each year starting around late August to early September. The Ministry of Education’s platform, eregister.it.minedu.gov.gr, is still under development.

As a reminder, registration in the departments and schools of primary education of those who passed the Panhellenic exams is only done online and no physical presence is required. In some cases, additional information and/or supporting documents may be requested within specific deadlines for identification and completion of online registration.

The registration process

The enrollment in the Departments and Schools of Higher Education of the successful candidates from the General Lyceums and EPALs in the Panhellenic Examinations is to start within the next few days, following a circular from the Ministry of Education. In the specific Circular to be issued, the registration procedure will be described in detail.

It is reminded that if a person is already a registered student in a School or Department of Higher Education, he/she cannot register in the new School or Department of admission unless he/she is previously de-registered from the School or Department in which he/she is registered.

For the registration process, successful candidates are required to use a unique username and password combination in the special application of the Ministry of Education when it is opened.

The username of the successful candidate is defined as the Exam Code as assigned by their school.
The successful-user will use as password, the same one he/she used for submitting his/her Computerized Form.

The duration of the registration process in Higher Education will be defined on the home page of the application, while the successful applicants can only submit applications for registration in their successful department/school through the Information System “Electronic Registration of Successful Students” on the eregister.it.minedu.gov.gr platform.

After the deadline, the Secretariat of the Department or School checks and compares the list of applicants who have submitted an electronic application for registration, as it will be sent electronically by the Ministry of Education and Science, with the corresponding list of successful applicants for the categories of this year’s GEL and EPAL, which has already been sent by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Please note that the Secretariat may request additional supporting documents from the applicants.

After the finalization of the registration application through the P.S. “Electronic Registration of Graduates”, the users (first year students) will be directed to a special page, where they will be presented with the message “Successful Final Submission”.

The user will need to view and save the pdf of their registration application, which has now been assigned a file number.

Once the application has been successfully submitted, the user needs to go to a special page in order to complete the Student Individual Statistics Form.

It should be noted that for the successful applicants to the Military and Police Schools, the Schools of the Fire Brigade Academy and the Coast Guard, the Merchant Navy Academies, as well as the Higher Schools of Tourism Education of Rhodes and Crete, the deadline and the registration procedure of the successful applicants will be set and announced by the Schools themselves.
