Evia: 20-year-old killed in car accident had lost his father just days earlier

Grief for the loss of the 20-year-old and his also 20-year-old passenger. On July 26, AO Apollon Eretria announced his joining the team, wishing him a good season as an exceptional young man and athlete.

Newsroom August 30 09:17

Indescribable grief has gripped Evia after yet another tragic car accident that claimed the lives of two young people from Eretria, a 20-year-old man and his 20-year-old female passenger.

The car in which the two victims were traveling collided with a truck in Lampsakos, Chalkida, resulting in their instant death. Two other people in the car were lightly injured. The impact was so severe that the car was turned into a mangled heap of metal.

As reported by eviathema.gr, the tragedy is even greater as the 20-year-old G.K. had lost his father just a month ago, on August 3, and the 40-day memorial service was set to take place the following day.

AO Apollon Eretria, which the 20-year-old had joined on July 26, had expressed their wishes for a good season for the young athlete, describing him as an exceptional young man and athlete.

The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Chalkida Traffic Department, while the local community mourns the loss of the two young lives.
