An emergency message was sent to residents on the island of Rhodes shortly after 1 p.m. Monday by the Civil Protection Directorate due to the dangerous fire that broke out in the area of Maritses and burned very close to a residential area. Through the message, residents are asked to be on alert.

Specifically, almost the entire Fire Service has rushed to the scene of the fire with 60 firefighters, 20 vehicles and two hiking teams, while five aircraft and five helicopters are operating from the air.
