A blast that occurred on a plane at the airport in Heraklion has caused alarm among authorities.

The explosion, according to creta24.gr, occurred shortly before the scheduled takeoff of the aircraft, which was bound for England.

According to initial reports, the explosion was caused by electronic devices, specifically a power bank and an electronic cigarette, which were in a passenger’s bag placed in the plane’s seat.

The aircraft,which was carrying 236 passengers, ultimately did not depart for its destination.

As expected, the powerful explosion caused a commotion and police forces were immediately rushed to the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
