Lebanon – Le Parisien: Iranian spy “revealed” Nasrallah’s location to Israel on Friday

"The sense that 'Iran has abandoned us' prevails among the Lebanese after Nasrallah's assassination and the massive destruction in Beirut."

Newsroom September 29 02:16

Information about the whereabouts of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, which led to his “neutralization” on Friday afternoon, was reportedly provided to Israel by an Iranian spy, according to the French newspaper Le Parisien, citing a Lebanese security source.

Nasrallah was killed during a massive Israeli strike targeting Hezbollah’s command headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Le Parisien highlights that the “Iranian spy,” whose identity has not been revealed, informed Israel about Nasrallah’s arrival at the location, which led to him being targeted and the execution of the “New Order” operation by the Israeli Air Force (IDF).

The report stated that Nasrallah arrived in the southern suburbs of Beirut in the same vehicle used by Abbas Nilforoushan, deputy commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, who was also killed in the same attack.

The French newspaper also confirmed that the meeting attended by Nasrallah and Nilforoushan included 12 high-ranking Hezbollah officials. Israel waited for the start of the meeting between Hezbollah’s leader and the organization’s commanders to launch the raid.

Robin Ramaekers reports that over 100 people may still be trapped under the rubble, there are no rescuers in the area, and the general sentiment is that “Iran has abandoned us.”
