Speaking to Variety during the first day of the Mipcom exhibition in Cannes, Warner Bros. TV Group’s President and CEO, Channing Dungey, shared that “the TV project is progressing quite well.”
“Our fantastic writing team is in place and doing what they need to do. Casting is already underway in the UK and Ireland,” Dungey added.

When asked how she feels about creating the Harry Potter TV series, she said: “As a huge fan of the books, it’s honestly an incredible dream to have the opportunity to explore them more thoroughly than the two-hour films could. That’s why we’re taking this journey again.”
Filming is set to begin next year, with the release date on HBO still to be announced.
