Without the involvement of a third party or any conflict between them, Enzo Fernández decided to end his relationship with Valentina Cervantes, with whom he has two children.
Reports from Argentina indicate that the breakup happened at least ten days ago, with the international midfielder informing the 24-year-old that he wanted to be on his own. The two had been together since 2019 when they were living in Portugal, as Fernández was playing for Benfica at the time. Naturally, she followed him to London when he transferred to Chelsea. Their most memorable public appearance together was on the field at the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.
The Timeline
While Cervantes posted an Instagram story asking people not to search for smoke where there’s no fire, she also admitted that they are no longer a couple and are going through very difficult days emotionally. An Argentine journalist claims that about ten days ago, Fernández informed her that he couldn’t continue, expressing regret for entering into such a serious relationship so young, but emphasized that they would always be family because of their children.
This seems to be the situation, based on Cervantes’ story, which reads:
“Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other, starting today. But we will always be family and support each other in everything. Two children need a lot of our love. I know what kind of person Enzo is and what an exceptional father he is, but I also know the heart he has. And that is enough for me. Please don’t try to create conflicts where there are none.”
