Antonis Samaras, Greece’s former prime minister, is set to be absent from ONNED’s 50th-anniversary celebration scheduled for Saturday at the Athens Conservatory, according to sources. In his letter, he explained his absence due to a scheduling change for the ONNED event, noting prior obligations.
Samaras similarly did not attend the New Democracy (ND) anniversary on October 4th, held outside the historic ND headquarters on Rigillis Street.
Former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis will also be absent from the ONNED event, according to an earlier report by Proto Thema. Karamanlis is expected to be in Thessaloniki by then, as he is scheduled to speak on November 4th at the presentation of journalist Vangelis Plakas’ book, which discusses Konstantinos Karamanlis and his impact on the city’s infrastructure development.
