The Hirona region is the latest in Spain, after Balencia and Barcelona, to be hit by torrential rains with water flooding the roads, and washing away dozens of cars, with, thankfully, no injuries.

The storm hit in the early hours of Friday morning with the heavy rainfall not lasting long, however.

According to El Mundo, local authorities had warned of the possibility of flooding, but several residents did not follow the instructions, with rushing waters washing away their vehicles.

As reported in the Spanish media, in the area most affected there is a stream into which water from the surrounding hills flows.
