According to rodiaki.gr, 35-year-old Irini – Despina Dimitraki – Aroni was 7 months pregnant. Relatives say she had a difficult pregnancy. So she decided to go to a private hospital in Athens to be monitored by doctors.
The woman was planning to have a religious wedding with Vassilis Aroni last September. But the wedding was postponed because she did not want to be inconvenienced and tired. The couple got married on October 31 in a civil wedding inside the hospital, while they planned the religious wedding for after the birth of their child.
The doctors of the hospital, always according to rodiaki.gr, discharged the 35-year-old on November 6. However, they asked her to stay in Athens and go for check-ups in the morning and afternoon, which she did.
On Sunday night, however, while the whole family was at the house they had rented near the hospital, the woman suffered a breakdown, according to preliminary indications. An ambulance from the EKAB and the private Hospital in Athens was immediately called, arriving almost simultaneously. Also, a doctor from the hospital, who was very close by, went and proceeded with resuscitation procedures. Unfortunately, it was too late.
Immediately the woman was taken to the hospital where they removed her baby, who is being treated in the ICU.
