Peskov: Trump’s team talks about peace, unlike the Biden administration

Moscow is not familiar with the views of the Romanian far-right candidate on international affairs, says Kremlin spokesperson

Newsroom November 25 01:13

The Kremlin said today that the team of elected President Donald Trump speaks about peace, while the current U.S. government under Joe Biden does not.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that Moscow is ready for dialogue regarding Ukraine.

Donald Trump is “very concerned” about the escalation between Russia and Ukraine, said the newly appointed national security advisor to the president, Mike Waltz, in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, saying that the war must be brought “to a responsible end.”

The Kremlin spokesperson also said that Moscow is not well-informed about the views on international issues of Kalin Georgescu, a Romanian far-right NATO critic who is likely to be a candidate in the second round of presidential elections on December 8.

Georgescu’s success in the first round of the presidential elections was unexpected and threatens the firm stance that Romania has maintained in support of Ukraine.

Dmitry Peskov told journalists that, while Moscow does not know much about Georgescu’s views on international issues, it clearly understands the position of Romania’s current leadership, which, he said, is hostile to Russia.
