The IDF has advised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that now is the appropriate time to implement a ceasefire in Lebanon, Channel 12 reported on Monday, citing a close associate of the Israeli Prime Minister.
The military stated it has met its objectives, including destroying Hezbollah’s infrastructure along the border, eliminating the threat of incursions into northern Israel, and significantly reducing the Lebanese organization’s missile arsenal. These achievements were conveyed by defense officials to Netanyahu, according to the report.
However, if ceasefire efforts collapse, the IDF has contingency plans to expand its operations in Lebanon, the Channel 12 report added.
