Russia has brought charges against several Western journalists for reporting from the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine. This area saw a cross-border offensive by Ukrainian forces on August 6, during which they seized control of part of Russian territory.
Legal proceedings against these journalists have been conducted in absentia, with the court orders meaning they would be arrested if they enter Russia.
