China’s Defense Minister, Admiral Dong Joon, is facing an investigation as part of a campaign against corruption that has reached the highest echelons of the Chinese armed forces, according to a report in today’s Financial Times.
Dong is the third defense minister in a row from the Asian giant to face an investigation of this nature, according to the newspaper, which cites current and former U.S. officials.
His predecessor Lee Sangfu was removed from office seven months after he took over.
Reuters news agency sought comment from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, which has so far not responded.
