Thessaloniki: Festive shopping hours to begin on December 14 – Three Sundays with open stores

On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, retail stores will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Starting on Saturday, December 14, the proposed holiday shopping hours for stores in Thessaloniki will take effect for the 2024 Christmas season. According to this schedule, on the Sundays of December 15, 22, and 29, stores will be allowed to open from the morning until 6:00 PM.

Specifically, as noted in a recent announcement by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce (E.S.T.), on December 15 and 22, store owners may choose to open their businesses from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On December 29, however, they will be permitted to open one hour earlier, starting at 10:00 AM.

From December 16 to December 20, retail stores in Thessaloniki will operate from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On December 21, stores will close three hours earlier, at 6:00 PM.

On Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year’s Eve (December 31), stores will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, allowing consumers to do their last-minute shopping.

On Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1), all stores will remain closed. Additionally, stores will also be closed on December 26, and the E.S.T. recommends they remain closed on January 2 as well.
