Yliki: Missing 75-year-old fisherman found dead

The body was discovered in the lake, approximately 8 meters deep, just a few meters from where his boat was found the previous day

A 75-year-old fisherman from Menidi, Attica, who had been missing since Monday morning after going fishing at Lake Yliki, was found dead on Thursday afternoon (November 28).

His body was located by divers from the 1st EMAK rescue team at a depth of about 8 meters, close to where his inflatable boat was discovered 24 hours earlier. The recovery, assisted by members of the 7th EMAK, will allow the body to be transferred by ambulance for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The 75-year-old was known to frequently visit Lake Yliki, either alone or with companions, and was considered an experienced fisherman, according to lamiareport.gr.
