Fourteen people lost their lives, and 569 were injured in 501 traffic accidents in Attica during November.

  • 14 fatal accidents resulting in 14 deaths,
  • 13 serious accidents with 15 severely injured individuals,
  • 474 minor accidents causing 554 minor injuries.

According to the Attica Traffic Police, the primary causes of these accidents were driving without caution and attention, ignoring traffic signs, and violations of traffic rules by pedestrians. Additionally, the failure of motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets significantly exacerbated the severity of injuries in many cases.

During the same period, as part of targeted actions to improve road safety in Attica, 32,918 violations were recorded, including 1,373 that were criminal offenses.

Examples of violations include:

  • 1,032 instances of driving under the influence of alcohol, with 69 classified as criminal offenses,
  • 1,894 speeding violations,
  • 374 cases of running red lights,
  • 494 violations for mobile phone use while driving,
  • 1,537 cases of not wearing seat belts,
  • 3,247 instances of not wearing protective helmets,
  • 59 violations for dangerous maneuvers.
