EuroLeague standings: Olympiacos moves 2nd with win in Monaco – Victories for Alba and Armani

Olympiacos defeated Monaco 89-80 in a thrilling match, while Alba won in overtime against Virtus, and Armani continued its winning streak with a dominant 101-86 victory over Red Star

Olympiacos secured a significant win against Monaco at the “Gaston Medecin” stadium, defeating the team coached by former captain Vassilis Spanoulis 89-80. This victory placed the Greek team in the second spot in the EuroLeague standings with a 9-4 record, tied with Fenerbahce and just one win behind leaders Paris (10-3). In Milan, Armani had an easy night against Red Star, winning 101-86, while Alba claimed a 90-88 overtime victory against Virtus in Bologna.

Monaco vs. Olympiacos: 80-89

Olympiacos triumphed in the Principality, leveraging their strong defense in the final minutes to secure an 89-80 win over Monaco. Sasha Vezenkov (14 points, 6 rebounds), Shaquielle McKissic (18 points), Evan Fournier (19 points), and Nigel Williams-Goss (14 points) led the team offensively.

The game was close until the last five minutes, but Giorgos Bartzokas’ squad made the right decisions to tip the balance in their favor.

Armani Milan vs. Red Star: 101-86

In a remarkable turnaround, Armani Milan recorded its fourth consecutive victory, overpowering Red Star with ease. The Italian team, which had been struggling earlier in the season, has now defeated Partizan, Maccabi, Fenerbahce, and Red Star in just 20 days.

Alba Berlin overcame a 17-point lead in Bologna, ultimately winning 90-88 in overtime against Virtus. This victory marked Alba’s third win in the EuroLeague, with two of them against Italian teams (the first being a 105-101 win over Armani Milan).

David McCormack (16 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals), Gabriele Procida (20 points, 4 assists), and Will Clyburn (23 points, 7 rebounds) starred for the German team.
