Lily-Rose Depp on fame: “When I’m not working, I want to have a normal life

The actress discusses her fears and the importance of protecting her personal life from the public eye

Newsroom December 5 12:15

The actress, and daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, spoke with Interview magazine and highlighted the changes she’s noticed in herself over time.

As she explained, she now finds herself fearing things that didn’t concern her in the past. “I think the world started scaring me a lot. I’m afraid of things now that I wasn’t afraid of before,” she said.

She added, “It’s strange. I wonder if I have a greater awareness of the world’s dangers or something like that? But I would never jump out of an airplane. I’d never do bungee jumping. I don’t even think I’d want to try zip-lining, honestly.”

The actress also emphasized how important it is for her to protect her personal life from the spotlight. “I grew up with the idea that personal and private life is valuable and needs to be protected. On set, it’s the only time you allow it to come out,” she explained.

To close, she added, “When I’m not working, I want to have a normal life.”
