Hamas today “congratulated” the Syrian people after the fall of Bashar al-Assad, with the Palestinian Islamist movement calling for unity.

“Hamas congratulates the brotherly Syrian people on their success in achieving their aspirations for freedom and justice and calls on all different groups of the Syrian people to unite,” Hamas stated in its announcement.
