Gerakas: Mammoth burglary in a detached house – They took €270,000 from a crypt on a staircase

First, they "blinded" the security cameras of the detached house and then disconnected some of the alarm's "traps."

Newsroom December 27 07:42

A burglary with loot amounting to €270,000 in cash, which took place in the early hours of Christmas Eve in a detached house in Gerakas, has left the authorities puzzled.

According to reports, the two burglars broke into the detached house at 4 a.m., with their features covered.

Their first move, as per the same information, was to spray-paint the house’s security cameras in order to “blind” them.

Next, the two burglars climbed onto the rooftop, broke through an aluminum door, and entered the property.

As the reports state, the burglars headed straight to a hidden compartment located in a step of an internal staircase, where €270,000 in cash had been concealed.

Sources familiar with the investigation also noted that the burglars disconnected some of the alarm system’s sensors (“traps”) to prevent it from being triggered.

After grabbing the money, the burglars returned to the rooftop, where they descended using a rope tied to an antenna on the roof of the detached house, escaping in an unknown direction.
