Chios: 68 migrants found in Panagia

Among them were 30 minors - Preliminary investigation conducted by the Port Station of Oinousses

The landing of 68 immigrants on Panay Island twice in a matter of hours has alerted the Limeniki authority of Oinoussaikos.

On Monday evening, following a report of foreigners disembarking in Panagia, a Coast Guard patrol boat arrived and located eight men, eight women and 13 minors and transported them safely to Chios.

They were then handed over to officers of the Chios/TDM Police Directorate for transfer to the Closed Controlled Facility of Chios. Preliminary investigation is carried out by the Port Station of Oinousses.

Also, on Tuesday morning, the Port Authority of Inoussa was informed again about the disembarkation of foreigners on Panagia Island. Immediately, a Coast Guard patrol boat went to the area and located 39 foreigners (13 men, nine women and 17 minors) and transported them safely to Chios. They were then handed over to officers of the TDM for transfer to a KEDN in Chios.

Preliminary investigation is carried out by the Port Station of Oinousses.
