AADE unveils tax transactions accessible via mobile phones

New tools for immediate invoice issuance, debt payments and document management - The AADE action plan

Newsroom January 28 07:25

Professionals, SMEs, large companies, and citizens are now gaining instant access to new digital services that turn their cell phones into tax offices. The AADE is today unveiling the new tools that allow taxpayers to easily manage their obligations, reducing paperwork and saving time.

During the presentation made by the head of the AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis, the launch of the free myDATAapp, which allows the issuance of invoices and retail receipts from a mobile phone or tablet, with immediate recording in electronic books, is among other things announced. At the same time, it presents the ability to store tax certificates, access real-time revenue and expense data, and secure tax debt payments via IRIS or card.

The new digital age also includes a chatbot with artificial intelligence that answers taxpayer queries, personalised alerts, and the addition of a modern call centre. At the same time, from July 2025, the mandatory use of electronic invoices by all businesses for transactions within Greece will be introduced, ensuring transparency and tax compliance.

The new AADE applications, such as myAADEapp, enable taxpayers to monitor their data in real-time, manage requests and appointments, and store key documents on their mobile phones, significantly facilitating the tax transaction process.

What the action plan includes:

  • 1. New application for professionals and businesses that will allow invoices to be issued from anywhere, with automatic posting to e-books.
  • 2. Issuance of a digital delivery note, through which the control mechanism will be able to monitor the movement of products in real-time.
  • 3. Ability to store documents and certificates required for transactions.
  • 4. Monitoring of revenues and expenses through a digital application.
  • 5. Access to the tax account for information on current tax debts and tax refunds.
  • 6. Secure payments directly from the app, via IRIS or card.
  • 7. Management of contact details and IBAN declaration for tax refunds.
  • 8. Follow-up and management of requests and appointments with the tax administration.
  • 9. Access to “My Messages” to receive and manage personalized tax notifications.
  • 10. Real-time personalized alerts for citizens, professionals and tax advisors.
  • 11. MyWallet application for storing basic documents such as Registration Details, Tax Information, Traffic Fees, and other certificates.
  • 12. Ability to quickly log in via PIN or biometrics.
  • 13. Locating AADE services on a map using Geolocation and contact details.
  • 14. Digital clientele starting with businesses in the vehicle sector and expanding to other sectors by the end of 2025.
  • 15. Creation of a modern call centre to answer taxpayer queries.
  • 16. Chatbot with artificial intelligence to provide instant answers to tax questions.

These changes aim to reduce inconvenience, increase transparency, and improve the daily life of taxpayers, marking an important step towards the complete digital transformation of the tax administration.
