Larissa: 52-year-old man arrested for hiding an arsenal in his house

Apart from the weapons, police also discovered cannabis

A 52-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the municipality of Tyrnavos by officers of the Narcotics Division of the Larissa Criminal Investigation and Detection Sub-Directorate. A case file has been prepared against him for violations of drug and firearm laws.

Specifically, following a thorough evaluation of intelligence, a search was conducted at his home and storage areas, where the following items were found and confiscated:

  • Two nylon packages containing dried cannabis, with a total weight of 1.5 grams,
  • One scale,
  • One air rifle,
  • One hunting shotgun,
  • One replica pistol (airgun) along with an empty magazine,
  • Two metal boxes containing metal pellets for an airgun,
  • One knife,
  • Thirteen shotgun cartridges, and
  • One hand grenade.

According to reports, the air rifle was hidden under a stove, while the cannabis was stashed inside it.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Larissa Criminal Investigation and Detection Sub-Directorate.
