Elon Musk blocked $25,000 for psychological support for LGBTQIA+ immigrants in Greece

The DOGE super-ministry cut off this funding - Musk, in a post above a photo of the Greek flag next to that of the LGBTI community, commented that "there are too many cases like this"

Newsroom February 13 06:40

DOGE, the super-ministry that Donald Trump has commissioned, tech mogul Elon Musk, has blocked funds to our country as well.

Specifically, it was a $25,000 fund, which, according to the DOGE announcement, was destined for Greece and titled: “Empowering refugees from the LGBTQIA+ community in Greece.”

The description of the program, which was “cut” by Elon Musk and his staff, states that the purpose of the program was to provide “material, legal and psychological support to asylum seekers and refugees from the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as to inform and raise awareness of civil society on issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community.”

Elon Musk himself, in a post on his privately owned X above a photo of the Greek flag next to the LGBTQIA community flag, commented “There are too many cases like this”. The tweet quoted by Musk from the user “Libs of TikTok”, asks the question “why are we funding such garbage?”

Elon Musk’s post was also commented on by Hellenic Solution MEP Fragkos Fragoulis, who a day earlier had officially sent a letter to the tycoon, asking him to investigate funds that have been channeled by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to NGOs in Greece and which, according to his letter, “are being squandered for the accommodation of illegal immigrants in luxury hotels”.

However, Mr. Fragoulis, and the president of Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, himself, may gloat about the move, but the number of funds committed and the description from Elon Musk’s super-ministry relate to a different program and not to the housing of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.
