The December receipts figures are impressive, 435 million for the first time, up from 326 million in 2023.

This year’s December rise is attributed to the rise of the country’s two largest urban centers, especially Athens which has been experiencing strong tourism revenue growth lately.

Tourism remains a key contributor to the Greek economy, as compared to 2023, non-resident traveler arrivals increased by 9.8% and related receipts by 5.4%, with travel receipts reaching €21.7 billion from €20.5 billion in 2023.
