Immediately after the motion of no-confidence was tabled,  Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took the floor and informed the national delegation that he accepts the impeachment and asked the Parliament to immediately begin the three-day debate that will culminate next Friday evening with the final clash of political leaders and the open roll call vote.

The three-day debate process of the no-confidence motion begins with the two speakers from the signatories of the motion. On behalf of PASOK, it will be Panagiotis Doudonis, while Katerina Notopoulou from Syriza is likely to be Katerina Notopoulou. Afterwards, the Minister of State, Makis Voridis, will give a response from the government, while there will then be statements from the other parliamentary parties.

In Thursday’s session, MPs will speak with interventions by ministers, while on Friday, the final battle of political leaders will take place, with Vassilis Stigas taking the floor first, in order to close the cycle of statements with the speech of the Prime Minister. At midnight on Friday, the roll call vote is expected to take place. The motion of no confidence is rejected if it does not receive at least 151 votes in favour.
