21-year-old Johan Williams was found dead on Friday morning in Gigilo, specifically near the “Mitato of Tzatzimos,” a very dangerous area even for experienced climbers.
The search for the young man lasted a month, starting from the moment his disappearance was noticed at the parking lot in Xyloskalo. Authorities and his family made tremendous efforts to find Johan, facing harsh weather conditions and the steep slopes of Gigilo.
Climbers who spent the night on the mountain were the ones to find the unfortunate 21-year-old’s body this morning and notified the authorities.
Now that the exact location of the young man is known, the fire department is expected to start an operation to recover his body.
