Lake Beletsi, named after the nearby peak of Mount Parnitha, is a small artificial lake that was created by accident in the Seventies when construction on the region’s infrastructures began. Accumulation of water in the area created the 5,000 square-meter lake that is 5 meters deep.
Though a man-made accident, the lake is an oasis near central Athens that is an important area for migratory birds, ducks and fish. It is a place of peace and tranquility with stunning views.
