Significant rainfall was recorded yesterday in Crete, while the strongest wind gust reached 116 km/h in Tinos - The EMY forecast for the weekend suggests improving weather conditions.

Newsroom March 20 07:33

The recent spell of harsh weather that gripped the country over the past 48 hours with biting cold, rain, thunderstorms, gale-force winds, and snowfall in mountainous areas is gradually subsiding. Conditions are improving, temperatures are on the rise starting today, and sunshine will prevail across almost the entire country.

According to EMY director Theodoros Kolydas, a return to “summer-like” weather is expected from the beginning of next week. In a post, he noted that on Tuesday, March 25, temperatures at the 850 hPa level (approximately 1,500 meters above sea level) in Greece will be 4 degrees Celsius above seasonal norms, while in the rest of Eastern Europe, they will be 6 to 7 degrees higher than usual.
