DYPAA: Registered unemployed decreased by 5.6% in February

The Attica and Central Macedonia Regions record the highest number of registered unemployed

The number of unemployed registered in the Public Employment Service (DYPAA) reached 960,134 in February, showing a decrease of 56,922 people (5.6%) compared to the same month of the previous year and a decrease of 21,240 people (2.2%) compared to the previous January.

According to the DYPAA announcement, the total number of registered individuals in the DYPAA register for February 2025 was 960,134. Of these, 456,015 (47.5%) were registered for 12 months or more, and 504,119 (52.5%) were registered for less than 12 months.

• Men amounted to 343,637 people (35.8%), and women amounted to 616,497 people (64.2%).
• The age group 30-44 years holds the largest number of registered individuals, totaling 300,797 people (31.3%).
• The educational level of Secondary Education holds the largest number of registered individuals, totaling 463,097 people (48.2%).

Among the country’s regions, the Attica and Central Macedonia regions record the highest numbers, with 284,997 people (29.7%) and 179,053 people (18.6%), respectively.

The total number of subsidized unemployed for February 2025 (referring to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month) is 257,492 individuals, of which 135,398 (52.6%) are regular unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed, and 122,094 (47.4%) are seasonal workers in tourism. Men account for 112,658 (43.8%), and women account for 144,834 (56.2%).

Of the total subsidized unemployed, 121,116 (47.0%) are regular, 2,685 (1.0%) are construction workers, 122,094 (47.4%) are seasonal tourism workers, 10,668 (4.1%) are other seasonal workers (agricultural), 838 (0.3%) are teachers, and 91 (0.0%) are in other categories.
