LEX’s highly anticipated concert at the outdoor space of OAKA, announced via Instagram on Thursday (April 24), sold out in under 24 hours, shattering all records for a Greek artist.
From the very first minutes after the announcement, online demand for tickets skyrocketed, with thousands waiting in digital queues for up to five hours.
Today (April 25), the production company officially announced the concert is sold out. However, they requested a few days to explore options for accommodating even more fans.
It’s worth noting that attendance is expected to exceed 100,000 people, potentially setting a new record in Greece. The company stated:
“The OAKA outdoor venue sold out in under 24 hours, breaking every record for a Greek artist.”
Statement from Dynasty Athens (production company):
“When we announced LEX’s concert in Athens on June 28, we knew there was excitement, but the interest exceeded all expectations.
The OAKA venue sold out in less than 24 hours, breaking every record for a Greek artist.
We understand how strong the public’s desire is to attend, and we ask for a few days to find the best solution to enable as many people as possible to join.”
LEX and the Game-Changing Impact on Greek Rap
Alexis Lanaras, better known as LEX, was born on September 25, 1984, in Thessaloniki but grew up in the Faliro district. He started as a street artist and turned to music in 1999.
His lyrics often deal with social, political, and deeply personal issues. Now 41 years old, LEX has built a massive and loyal following, and his live shows are known for their intensity.
In summer 2022, nearly 20,000 fans packed the Nea Smyrni stadium for his concert, which sold out within hours — a moment that many describe as the rise of “the LEX phenomenon.”
30,000 Fans at Kaftanzoglio Stadium
On October 21, 2022, LEX performed at Kaftanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki in front of 30,000 people—a record-breaking turnout for a hip-hop concert in Greece.
What’s even more remarkable is that LEX doesn’t advertise his concerts. A single post on social media is enough to draw tens of thousands.
