From centre stage at his party’s main election rally in Syntagma square in central Athens, Mr. Koutsoumbas welcomed the thousand party supporters and addressed them three days before the national elections on January 25.

The leader of KKE launched an attack against all political parties, and was especially critical of the conservative New Democracy (ND) leadership and the main Radical Left Coalition SYRIZA that he accused of not talking about recovery of the people’s losses.

According to Mr. Koutsoumbas, if it was within its power, ND would have taken even more from the Greek nation, but didn’t have enough time but left the rest in the “drawer” for the next government.

He further, spoke about ultra-nationalist Golden Dawn as well as centrist Potami and posed the question on the otherwise anti-memorandum SYRIZA about when will eliminate the memorandum related laws?

Furthermore, the leader of KKE referred to his party and stated that “it is the only non-removable vote which is not building palaces in sand.”

“A solid, unwavering, proud, a guarantee for the people,” were the words used by Mr. Koutsoumbas to describe KKE.

He continued by saying that, only KKE has the ability to exercise an effective, multilevel real opposition inside and outside the parliament, in and out of Greece in the people’s best interest and added that is the only party that is never hides on small or big problems and struggles.
