A major police operation has been underway since Wednesday morning in areas of Western Attica aimed at dismantling a criminal organization whose members were involved in thefts and burglaries in Northeastern and Southeastern Attica.

The operation is being led by the Greek FBI — officially, the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime — and by early Wednesday afternoon, eight arrests had already been made. The operation is still ongoing.
