The University of Ioannina, western Greece, on Friday will hold an event to celebrate the 50-year anniversary from its establishment.

As part of the event, which will be open to the public, the Hellenic Post will present a commemorative stamp.

The university, established in 1964, has operated as an independent High Educational Institute since 1970, while today it numbers about 15,000 students.
