12 people died, 30 are still missing and a number were injured after a TransAsia Airways plane crash landed into the Keelung river near Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The ATR-72 turbo-prop plane clipped a bridge before crashlanding. Flight controllers lost contact with the plane that was heading to the Kinmen islands, near Xiaman.

Chilling footage filmed from passing cars captures the moment of impact after it hit a taxi, clipped the bridge and then crashed into the river.

There were fifty-eight people (53 passengers, 5 crew) on board. Those rescued are being brought by dinghies to the shore as passengers are being pulled out of the plane with ropes.

Το αεροσκάφος, ένα ATR 72-600, πραγματοποιούσε πτήση από την Ταιπέι στο νησί Κίνμεν, όταν για άγνωστους λόγους έχασε ύψος και έπεσε στο ποτάμι.

Το 2014 η Transasia είχε εμπλακεί σε ένα ακόμη αεροπορικό δυστύχημα, καθώς 48 άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους όταν ένα ίδιου τύπου αεροσκάφος προσπάθησε να προσγειωθεί κάτω από αντίξοες καιρικές συνθήκες στο νησί Μαγκόνγκ.
