It is with great joy and spiritual delight that the Holy Metropolis of Sweden and All Scandinavia announces to the devout faithful of the Mother Church of Constantinople in Scandinavia that following the administrative reorganization of its parishes in Sweden and Norway and the legal recognition of the Parish of St. Bartholomew in Reykjavik, Iceland, the process for the legal recognition of the Holy Metropolis’ Parish of St. George of Ioannina in Roskilde, Denmark, was successfully completed on June 24, 2025, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation and the relevant decisions of the state authorities of Denmark.
This parish, already an active and vibrant part of the local Church, now gains full legal status, which strengthens its pastoral, liturgical, and social ministries.

This recognition justifies the efforts of those who contributed to this successful outcome and marks the beginning of a fruitful new spiritual period.
Upon being informed of this favorable outcome, His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia offered prayers of thanksgiving to the Trinitarian God and expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Denmark and the relevant Government Ministry for their excellent cooperation.

He also extended his thanks to all those who contributed to the completion of the process and prayers that God’s Grace may strengthen the parish’s ministry for the glory of His Name and the benefit of those who turn to the Church as the Ark of Salvation
